Some Background.
The official Gulf War lasted 44 days and - based upon U.S. Defense Department calculations - had a financial cost of approximately $61 Billion. Cornell University reports that this included “deployment, construction and operations in the Gulf” and that “$54 billion was offset by contributions of other members in the Coalition. Two-thirds of the $54 billion was provided by the Gulf States ($36 billion) with the remaining one-third mostly provided by Japan and Germany ($16 billion).”
This would mean that the actual financial cost to the United States was $7 Billion. Since “Costs” are also “Revenues” for Defense Department contractors, actual “Profits” have not yet been disclosed, nor have the costs and revenues of the continuing air raids.

Immediately after the official suspension of the war, the U.N. established the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC), to adjudicate claims against Iraq for damages incurred as a result of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait and the subsequent conflict.
