The attack will also add credence to Sharon’s plan to build a security fence to separate Palestinians from Israelis, but construction was halted Wednesday, due to a shooting incident between IDF soldiers and Palestinian fighters from Jenin.

The sad irony is that this suicide bombing occurred the day before the trial of three Jewish Israeli settlers was about to begin. They are accused of attempting to bomb a Palestinian girl’s school in East Jerusalem. The trial will take place in the Jerusalem Disitrict Court.

Perhaps, the Israeli Courts may achieve what politicians cannot – Justice and Mercy.

The BBC reports that: “At least 1,403 Palestinians and 530 Israelis have been killed since the Palestinian uprising began in September 2000.”

Israeli security and Palestinian self-determination are inextricably joined together, but it appears that neither side has the wherewithal or resolve to work together.

A.J. Muste, noted advocate of Peace and Social Justice, once said, “There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.”
