Benny Morris is probably the best known of the Israeli
"New Historians". His work,
"The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Crisis", which has just been re-released in an updated form, was groundbreaking. But Morris' personal politics are not what one would think given his historical work.

"The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Crisis", which has just been re-released in an updated form, was groundbreaking. But Morris' personal politics are not what one would think given his historical work.
Even in "Birth", Morris reaches the conclusion that the Palestinian refugee crisis was "born of war, not by design", despite the fact that his own research clearly showed premeditation in emptying a good number of Palestinian villages by the regular forces, and efforts by the more radical groups to spark an exodus through terror.
