Perhaps British & Irish press printed details of the four internationals who were beaten (and robbed of their passports and money) by settlers in the Nablus region. This occured in a village called Yanoun, where all of the 150 or so residents recently were forcibly removed from the village by terrorists from the nearby settlement. (Internationals are now 'occupying' the village, so that when the residents return -some already have- they will have a village to return to, rather than burned out houses and rubble). This highlights the violent tendencies of settlers and draws attention to the danger faced by Palestinians in the course of their daily existence. However, the danger is that we will focus on settler violence as the major problem - presenting the settler community with the opportunity to disown these violent 'loose canons', and present themselves as an otherwise peace-loving community who want to live in harmony with their Palestinian neighbours. Sure,! isn't that reasonable - Just like that man in your garden saying that he wants to live in peace with you.
