Founded in 1982, Search for Common Ground (SFCG) works to transform the way the world deals with conflict, shifting away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative problem solving. SFCG works with local partners to find culturally appropriate means to strengthen societies’ capacity to deal with conflicts constructively.

SFCG conducts conflict resolution programs in Africa, Europe, Indonesia, the United States and the Middle East, where programs focus on regional security, the regional threat posed by biological and chemical incidents, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2006, SFCG launched “The Shape of the Future,” a documentary series focusing on final status issues that must be resolved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The series was simulcast on Israeli, Palestinian and other Middle East television networks.

Launched in 1999 by AAI and AAIF, the leading organizations in the promotion of the policy and community interests of Arab Americans, the Kahlil Gibran “Spirit of Humanity” Awards gala focuses attention on acts of leadership that promote the common good and features prominent leaders from the diplomatic, business, philanthropic and government sectors.
