Palestinian Medical Relief Societies

URGENT ALERT
Evacuation of Palestinian Medical Relief office
Thursday 26th February 2004

Palestinian Medical Relief is pleased to announce the evacuation of the Israeli armed forces from our offices.

At around midday yesterday, residential areas in the center of Ramallah were attacked, including a building housing the Palestinian Medical Relief office. The staff of Medical Relief, private offices, and residents of apartments in the same building were forced, at gunpoint, to leave their offices and homes. This affected the ability of Medical Relief staff to carry out their vital humanitarian roles. The soldiers used the Medical Relief office as an observation station to view the activity in the streets. The soldiers finally left the Medical Relief office at around 5pm.

Palestinian Medical Relief Societies, would like to thank all humanitarian, human rights and health organizations, and the International community for the support they showed by demanding that the Israeli armed forces leave our offices.
