UDA: 'We'll hunt down Mad Dog's allies in Scotland', by Neil Mackay

Article image UDA commanders have vowed to hunt down and kill the 40 dissident loyalists who fled to Scotland last week in the wake of a bloody internecine feud in Belfast “no matter where they are”.
Ulster Defence Association leaders last night said that while their feud with rogue elements of terror chief Johnny “Mad Dog” Adair's C Company unit was “over in Northern Ireland” the hunt for the dissidents would go on.

Adair is currently in Maghaberry prison but some 40 associates, including his wife and children, are now in hiding in Scotland. Many are heavily involved in drug-dealing and racketeering and are closely connected to a number of major gangland figures in Scotland. They also own a number of properties in the west.
In an exclusive interview with the Sunday Herald, Adair's closest ally, John White, who is the leader of the exiled loyalists, said the dissidents plan to settle en masse in Scotland. But he says he intends to return to Ulster “when it is appropriate”. The UDA warned yesterday they would return to Ulster "at their own peril".
