Perhaps, it is time for the United Nations General Assembly to take an active stand for Peace, through the concept of “Democratic Wars”.
Although not binding, a General Assembly Resolution might have moral authority, since it would represent the wishes of the entire United Nations.
Let them recommend that every nation implement legislation, requiring that every individual who advocates any war, against any nation, be obliged to participate in that war.
Politicians, desk officers and other bureaucrats would lead their military forces from the Front Line, reminding those who must carry out their orders, the reasons why they should kill others and risk their own safety.
All able-bodied civilians could act as equipment carriers for the fighting forces.
All others could serve as “Front Line Support”.
In this way, all who advocate war could experience it first-hand.
The only honorable way to wage war is to do it yourself !
