The US administration should give up its "hegemonic" approach, change its foreign policy and be "cooperative" if it wants to bridge the widening gulf with the Muslim world, participants at the US-Islamic World Forum said Saturday, February 17.

"Five American disadvantages are standing as a stumbling bloc to any US-Muslim rapprochement: hegemony, injustice, ignorance, greed and hatred", Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, the president of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, told the opening seminar of the three-day event.
