Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyeh, delivered a speech on Tuesday at Midday in which he announced his government's position regarding the speech of Abbas. A statement was issued by the council of ministers which said that the PM received a telephone call from the Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad. Hamad and Haniyeh discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and the recent escalation in problems.
Haniyeh, has called on President Abbas to withdraw the presidential guards from the streets as the preservation of security is the responsibility of the internal security forces and not the presidential guards.
He said this during the visit he made to the family of his guard who was killed on Thursday during the clashes at the Rafah Crossing in the Gaza Strip that broke out when Haniyeh was returning to Gaza from his tour abroad.
