“It is a year for anniversaries”, President Higgins stated, recalling that the International Court had marked its sixtieth anniversary earlier this year. “Both our institutions are celebrating milestones at a time when the interest in international law is very high”, she continued, noting that the current era was “characterized by the broadening and deepening of international law”.
