The GULF WAR SYNDROME UK SUPPORT GROUP welcomes Wednesday's publication of the Lord Lloyd Inquiry in the UK and looks on its findings with favour.
We believe that for far too long the UK Ministry of Defence have been in a state of denial over the existence of the Gulf War Syndrome. We also believe that this unreceptive stance has served to help them to dodge all of the associated issues and their responsibility as an employer to provide a duty of care to sick and disabled veterans.
Background evidence now demonstrates a pattern of emerging ill health and this has been listed in both the Lloyd Inquiry and also the recent literature released from the American Presidential Advisory Committee.
In an effort to secure a swift resolution to this sorry episode and the suffering of service veterans we now call for compensation issues to be
addressed. In addition to this request and most important of all we would like to see the announcement of unprecedented levels of medical assessment and the treatment of all Gulf Theatre of Operations personnel who consider that they have been affected by Gulf War Syndrome.
Thank you for your support and interest in the Gulf War Syndrome UK Support Group, please do stay in touch.
Best Wishes
