Armenia: Police Attack Protesters and Press + UPDATES

Article image In the early hours of 13 April 2004, Ministry of Interior troops and police attacked a peaceful protest by 2,000 opposition supporters sitting on Baghramian Avenue in downtown Yerevan. The protest was the culmination of weeks or rallies in support of demands that the Armenian President, Robert Kocharian, resign.
