Today, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been with us, physically, for 75 years, if an assassassin’s bullet had not deprived us of his leadership.
During his short career, he showed everyone that the world need not be divided by race, religion or nationality, that a nation is the sum total of all its peoples and that leadership must always be guided by a moral purpose.
Perhaps, that is why he was taken from us.
Those who seek to control could not accept his call.

Those who still hear Dr. King can no longer allow the weak to be oppressed by the mighty, can no longer allow Justice to be cloaked by injustice, can no longer endure being ruled but must be truly represented - and must also demand Freedom for all peoples.
There will be celebrations and commemorations, beginning today and lasting through Tuesday – but the only real memorial for Dr. King will be for a sense of Justice to overcome the lust for power – not only in our leaders, but in ourselves – for we must all be re-awakened.
Our leaders can do nothing if we do not follow.
